The Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid and Clarity Electric will bow at the 2017 New York Auto Show.

The two all-new electrified Honda vehicles will join the Clarity Fuel Cell as the Japanese automaker expands its lineup of electrified offerings. It also makes Clarity the first vehicle series to offer an expanded array of electrified vehicle choices with fuel cell, battery electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains offered in a five-passenger, midsize sedan. The Clarity lineup is part of the Japanese automaker’s plan to make two-thirds of its global auto sales come from electrified vehicles by 2030.

Honda released the above teaser image for the two new models, joining the already available Clarity Fuel Cell. Along with Honda’s “fun-to-drive” DNA, the new Clarity models have a focus on aerodynamics and each one will have unique design elements.

The Clarity Electric will be the first affordable, midsize, five-passenger electric vehicle, while the Clarity Plug-in Hybrid will launch in all 50 states as it hopes to be the most popular model in the series. It will offer an all-electric driving range of at least 40 miles and a hyper-efficient gasoline-hybrid extended range mode.
